On October 26th, DKU University-Corporation Innovation Lab (U-Corp) organized a workshop on academic research, bringing together members of the 2024 fall U-Corp cohort to learn how to conduct research in the academic field.
To help students understand the significance of academic research and specific research methods, the workshop moved beyond the traditional knowledge-transfer approach. It combined theory with practice by discussing the importance, basic processes, and methods of research, encouraging students to draw research questions from their projects and think through solutions based on research steps. Furthermore, when introducing different research methods, students from various projects were grouped into research teams to learn diverse methods and present their findings. This combination of learning approaches not only allowed students to understand the application and importance of research but also strengthened collaboration and exchange of ideas across projects.
The workshop provided students with essential steps and methods for conducting academic research, helping them deepen their understanding and laying a solid foundation for their academic journeys. Additionally, it broke down barriers between projects, fostering cross-project exchanges and collaboration that expanded their academic perspectives and created an environment of mutual learning and growth. This experience offered students valuable insights and support, boosting their confidence and motivation in academic pursuits.
