Compassion in Action: Empowering Future Society through Charitable Outreach
Huochai Charity was founded in Shanghai in 2017 with the goal of empowering rural education. Their mission is to bridge the gap between development and underdevelopment by leveraging product thinking and kindness, particularly in the context of today’s rapidly advancing science and technology landscape. U-Corp@Huochai (also named: DKU Youngster) built upon the themes of previous public welfare projects by continuing to promote the realization and progress of “wishlists” for rural schools. They approached this goal through three key aspects: understanding the situation of the schools aided by Huochai, analyzing the needs of the schools, and collaborating with the DKU VA to conduct fundraising activities. Throughout the project, they regularly communicated with Huochai mentors to stay updated on the current status of donated supplies and the progress of on-campus activities. In partnership with the DKU VA, multiple fundraising and charity sale events were organized, contributing to the acceleration of fulfilling Huochai’s “wishlists” for rural schools. After the project, U-Corp@Huochai hoped to continue promoting and publicizing their public welfare activities, aiming to raise awareness among community members, and encouraging their participation and support in fulfilling the “wishlists” for rural schools. Ultimately, their efforts would help provide better educational resources for students in underdeveloped areas.
