Abstract
We seek to enhance intelligent systems within the metaverse by harnessing Web3 infrastructures alongside a suite of frontier technologies. By integrating generative AI, Large Language Models, collaborative machine learning, cloud computing, the Internet of Things (IoT), multi-agent systems, edge computing, networking, crowdsourcing, and distributed big-data analytics, we aim to create a distributed, universally accessible, and user-empowering metaverse. These technologies will be pivotal in addressing key areas such as 5G, new-generation IP network communication technologies, green environmental protection, new energy, and energy storage technologies, laying a solid network foundation for a digital society, and promoting fissile development across various vertical industries. Our initiative is centered on the principles of distributed architectures, massive adoption, and universal benefit.
Objectives of the proposed topic
1. Investigate Distributed Networks with Advanced Communication Technologies:
Explore large-scale antenna arrays, new filters, power amplifiers, and new network architectures to improve spectral efficiency and energy consumption.
2. Develop Protocols for Massive Adoption focusing on Green Technologies: Design user-friendly protocols that facilitate widespread adoption while incorporating green technology and solid waste resource utilization.
3. Enhance User Empowerment through AI and Cloud Computing: Leverage AI and cloud computing to create empowering tools for all metaverse participants, emphasizing AI-driven drones and cloud VR.
4. Stimulate Inclusive Entrepreneurship with New Energy Technologies: Promote business models integrating new energy and energy storage technologies, fostering broad participation in the metaverse ecosystem.
5. Advance Digital Ownership with Key Software Development: Support the development of essential software for significant applications, focusing on operating systems, databases, and industrial software to facilitate distributed governance and equitable asset ownership.
Expected outcomes of the proposed topic
- Comprehensive Metaverse Ecosystem Development: Establish a metaverse platform integrating accessible design, universal security, and robust infrastructure with advanced 5G, IP ne work communications, and AI. This platform will protect user data, engagebroader audiences, and perform efficiently at scale. It will benefit Duke Kunshan University, enhancing education and research and extending applications beyond the campus. Collaborations with Kunshan Metaverse Industry Park and Microsoft will drive public goods development.
