These innovative research and entrepreneurship projects can be developed into independent studies and signature work projects for students. More than that, the Dachuang program hopes to provide faculty with talented UG students who can contribute to your research and practice agendas.
The Innovation and Entrepreneurship Training Program is managed by a project system, which is divided into three categories: innovation training projects, entrepreneurship training projects, and entrepreneurship practice projects. It is also divided into three types: general projects, key projects (including projects in key support areas), and institution-enterprise cooperation fund projects.
Set up key support areas projects in key projects, encourage and guide college students to face the national economic and social development and major strategic needs, combine with the development trend of innovation and entrepreneurship education, and achieve outstanding innovation and entrepreneurship achievements in key areas and key links.
The innovation and entrepreneurship training project is not limited to disciplines and majors, and the topic selection should have certain academic value, theoretical significance or practical significance; innovative or obvious entrepreneurial education effect; correct direction of topic selection, rich content, sufficient argumentation, moderate difficulty, clear key and difficult points to be broken through, clear research ideas, scientific research methods, feasible research plan, and expected results that are assessable.
Students can choose their own topics within a certain range according to their interests. The scope of topics includes: sub-projects related to teachers’ scientific research and technology development (service) topics; comprehensive, design, and innovative experimental projects in open laboratories, training or internship bases; inventions, creations, designs, and other production projects; specific projects or open issues set by enterprises that are decomposed and refined based on the latest needs of the industry and practical production problems; entrepreneurial incubation projects for college students in entrepreneurial parks inside and outside the campus; all projects that need entrepreneurial practice combined with scientific and technological innovation; professional research and innovation projects, entrepreneurial plan and career planning innovation projects; social investigation projects; other projects with research and practical value, etc. Encourage topics that are geared towards national economic and social development, have certain theoretical and practical significance, directly come from the front line of industry and cutting-edge technology; encourage the development of basic theoretical research with certain innovation and targeted application research topics, encourage emerging marginal discipline research and interdisciplinary cross-disciplinary comprehensive research topics. Support innovative entrepreneurial training projects with technological, commercial, and industrial prospects.
Key support projects will support basic theoretical research projects with certain innovativeness and targeted applied research projects to continue to deepen research and practice, and encourage the development of cutting-edge scientific research, disruptive technological innovation, and substantive entrepreneurial practice.
The applicants for innovative training projects are undergraduate students or innovative teams, and the applicants for entrepreneurial training projects or entrepreneurial practice projects are undergraduate students or entrepreneurial teams. Students are encouraged to form teams across schools, departments, majors, and grades to apply for projects. The number of members in each team should be limited to 5, with no more than 2 project leaders. The members of the project team must have a clear division of labor. Each student can only be responsible for one provincial-level innovation and entrepreneurship training project during his/her study period, and cannot cross-apply between different projects at the same time.
Learn to have entrepreneurial thinking and mindset
You don’t have to be an entrepreneur, but the entrepreneurial experience will add new options and possibilities to your life choices. Participating in our innovation and entrepreneurship incubation will help you develop a differentiated mindset. It is often important to think and act unconventionally outside the confines of an organization’s established guidelines. This innovative thinking is only truly present when a person has gone through the entrepreneurial process and can actually implement his or her ideas in this way.
Develop a sense of ownership and the grit to take responsibility
As an employee, you may often be hesitant to take steps to proactively change something. But when you think like a company shareholder, you will be proactive in doing all the things that are in the best interest of your organization’s growth. That’s what entrepreneurs actually think. This sense of ownership and responsibility comes from being able to think like an entrepreneur about all aspects of your business operations. The challenging and uncertain journey of entrepreneurship requires more passion and grit to persevere than most other activities. This grit is probably the most important factor in one’s long-term success.
