The visit began with light‑hearted questions posed by student volunteers: “What do you think is different between primary school and university?” Their lively responses set the tone for an afternoon of discovery.
Students toured the DKU Library, where the academic atmosphere left a deep impression. Inside the DKU Innovation Lab, 3D printers captured their attention immediately, inspiring imaginative questions such as, “Can we print a future city?” and “Can we design an eco‑friendly robot?”—early sparks of innovation quietly taking root.
They then explored the physics and chemistry laboratories in the IB Innovation Building, where volunteers used everyday examples to explain how new ideas can solve real problems, helping students connect cutting‑edge technology with daily life.
A walk along the campus lakeside invited students to imagine young scholars from around the world studying and exchanging ideas—making the concept of an international learning community vivid and tangible.
Exploring a Global Learning Environment
A walk around DKU’s international campus allowed students to imagine future academic journeys in a global community.
Dialogue, Creativity, and Imagination
Following the tour, students gathered for an interactive sharing and creation session.
Houlang volunteer Qiao Tianyu introduced university life through vivid stories—covering academics, student organizations, personal interests, and global experiences—prompting enthusiastic questions:
“Do university students have a lot of homework?”
“Can you choose any major you like?”
In the creative activity “The University in My Eyes,” students illustrated their imagined ideal campus: tree‑lined pathways, advanced laboratories, vibrant libraries, and sunlit athletic fields. Three students volunteered to present their artwork, sharing heartfelt visions of their future. Each drawing reflected a dream quietly germinating.
A Meaningful Two‑Way Exchange
Houlang volunteers emphasized their goal of creating a friendly, interactive experience that helps children build tangible ideas about university life. Teachers noted that the event was well organized and highly engaging, helping students enhance their observation, imagination, and confidence.
Students shared heartfelt reflections:
“University looks fun and free,”
“I love the library and the labs,”
“I want to work hard and study here in the future.”
A Meaningful Two‑Way Exchange
This themed campus visit offered primary school students an accessible, inspiring glimpse into DKU’s academic, open, and globally oriented environment. With the support of the DKU Innovation and Entrepreneurship Initiative, the ideals of “innovation” and “future learning” extended beyond university walls and into the broader educational community.
It marked not only a journey of exploration for young learners but also the beginning of deeper collaboration between DKU and local schools. The Initiative looks forward to expanding such programs—creating more opportunities for children to encounter a wider world and discover a better version of themselves through authentic campus experiences.
