This art project aims to integrate biodiversity and folk songs to foster both cultural heritage and environmental conservation. Originating from the fieldwork in Wolong, Sichuan Province, we’ve identified the challenges and opportunities faced by locals in balancing modern development, nature preservation, and cultural legacy. Through interdisciplinary methods including anthropology, biology, and media arts, our project seeks to depict the intertwined progress of human society and nature within the framework of rural revitalization. To realize this vision, we’ve established a research-based art brand called “Participant Observation,” serving as a hub for various initiatives such as podcasts, exhibitions, and fieldwork, fostering field research and art creation on relevant topics.
