With the development of the Internet economy, the threshold for entrepreneurship has been continuously lowered. Coupled with the continuous development of courses, including career planning, innovation, and entrepreneurship in school education, a wave of innovation and entrepreneurship has begun to spread among college students across the country. Therefore, more and more college graduates attempt to take entrepreneurship as a new choice for their career planning. On the one hand, entrepreneurship is a new way to make money; On the other hand, it is a neoteric pursuit to realize the value of life.
In this ESS sharing session, we are honored to invite Mengdie Peng, the head of the Industry Promotion Department of Sichuan Biomedical Industrial Group, to give some valuable experience and advice to DKU students on the starting stage of self-employment. She plans to share the essential resources and capabilities required for entrepreneurship, risk points, and countermeasures, and also how to judge the growth potential of entrepreneurial teams and projects from investors’ perspectives based on actual cases.

Mengdie Peng, the head of the Industry Promotion Department of Sichuan Biomedical Industrial Group, is responsible for the group’s strategic planning, policy research, foreign cooperation, and new business development. During her tenure, she assisted the company in adapting to the transformation from a financial investment institution to an industrial investment platform from the strategic and business levels. Before joining Sichuan Biomedical Industrial Group, she worked in Singapore-Sichuan Hi-Tech Innovation Park and Forebright Capital successively in biomedical industry planning, industry attraction, equity investment, and M&A integration. Therefore, she has a more comprehensive understanding of the domestic biomedical industry’s current situation and development trends. In the past ten years, she has participated in the investment and financing of several listed companies and has been familiar with the equity financing process of high-tech enterprises. She has also provided many early-stage companies with advice on establishment, funding, and strategic development. Meanwhile, she holds a Master of Innovation and Entrepreneurship from Nanyang Technological University and a Bachelor of Science in Life Sciences from the National University of Singapore.
