Integrated Healthcare Timetabling Optimization using Cross- Domain Algorithm Selection
Team Name: Two-Oh-Fives
The increasing demand for healthcare and rising expenditures have highlighted the need for efficient resource utilization in healthcare systems. This project addresses the integrated problem of Patient Admission Scheduling (PAS), Nurse-to-Patient Assignment (NRA), and Surgical Case Planning (SCP), aiming to develop a unified optimization framework that considers the interdependencies between these critical healthcare operations. Developing Cross-Domain Algorithm Selection (CdAS) with HyFlex and ALORS, we will design and implement a hyper-heuristic approach to solve these problems simultaneously. The project involves four key phases: problem implementation with HyFlex, operator development, machine learning-based algorithm selection, and user interface development. Expected outcomes include a functional system that optimizes healthcare resource allocation and a comprehensive research report contributing to the advancement of integrated optimization in healthcare. This project will provide valuable insights into solving complex optimization problems and applying CdAS, with potential applications in real-world healthcare settings.|
