BABIES (Building Air-safe Breathing Indoor Environments for Sweethearts) is a research-based project evaluating whether a culturally tailored WeChat mini program can reduce indoor smoking in households with newborns. In partnership with two maternity and child hospitals in Kunshan, we will deploy evidence-based audiovisual content through a WeChat mini program and collect survey and engagement data to assess changes in smoking behaviors over 3, 6, and 9 months. This study aims to provide rigorous evidence on the effectiveness, sustainability, and scalability of digital behavioral interventions for reducing secondhand smoke exposure among young children.
