For this lecture, we are honored to have invited Jiachao Wang, a Chinese Para-Triathlete and the Gold medalist at the 2012 London Paralympics. With his rich personal experience and profound insights, Mr. Wang will share in-depth information on how to maintain a sense of responsibility and pragmatism in a complex and ever-changing environment, as well as how to persevere in the pursuit of goals and make continuous progress over time. After the lecture, Mr. Wang will continue to share his experiences with sports injuries, as well as how to properly prevent and manage sports injuries through an interactive workshop, which can help us ensure health and well-being while working out.

Jiachao Wang

Gold medalist at the 2012 London Paralympics
Jiachao Wang, born in September 1991, is a former Chinese Paralympic swimmer and now a para-triathlete. Over the years, he has competed in more than 30 domestic and international competitions, winning a total of 120 medals, including 70 golds, 36 silvers, and 14 bronzes. He participated in the 2004 Athens Paralympics, where he placed fourth; in the 2008 Beijing Paralympics, he won two silver medals and one bronze; and in the 2012 London Paralympics, he claimed one gold medal and two silver medals. In 2013, Wang was honored as a “Star of Self-reliance” among Chinese university students. After retiring in July 2015, he transitioned to triathlon. In 2019, he was recognized as a National Model of Self-reliance, and in 2020, he was awarded the title of “China Triathlon Figure of the Year.” In 2022, he was selected as a torchbearer for the Beijing Winter Paralympics. Wang was also the only para-triathlete from China to compete in the 2021 Tokyo Paralympics, where he finished fourth.
