Dr. Frans used to work as an investment consultant for Shell in China. During his tenure, he assisted in establishing Shell’s Chemical Project Department and was also responsible for maintenance, project design, and construction. He has more than 30 years of experience in project management in the chemical industry. Frans has worked in refineries in the Netherlands and Singapore and LNG plants in Malaysia for seven years, and has more than ten years of research and coordination experience. In addition, Frans also served as the construction director of the Nanhai project, which helped promote the establishment of Nanhai in China. As the construction director, the EPC project he was responsible for was successfully delivered on time and within budget. Under his leadership, this interdependent project of 135 contracts was launched flawlessly without subsequent claims. Furthermore, the project completed 110% of its production capacity in the first year of operation and achieved a profit of 200 million USD.
After retiring from Shell, Dr. Frans held the post of the senior advisor of McKinsey for Capital Productivity Operations Practice. He also served as the associate professor of Practice at the International Business School Suzhou, part of the Liverpool University linked joint venture XJTLU.
