To maintain a professional, productive, and ethical environment within Dii, all participants are expected to adhere to a set of institutional rules and policies. These guidelines are designed to foster a culture of respect, integrity, and accountability.
Intellectual Property Rights and Confidentiality
Dii places a strong emphasis on protecting intellectual property (IP) rights and maintaining confidentiality. All participants, including student teams, mentors, advisors, and staff members, are required to:
- Respect and safeguard the intellectual property rights of others, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets.
- Sign non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) to protect confidential information shared within the incubator.
- Refrain from disclosing or using any proprietary information, ideas, or materials without proper authorization.
- Promptly report any suspected violations of intellectual property rights or confidentiality breaches.
Dii and the Research Support Office collaborate to provide guidance and support to student teams in protecting their intellectual property, including assistance with patent applications, trademark registrations, and licensing agreements.

IRB Review
Research with human subjects must be approved by DKU Institutional Review Board before any research activities begin. To secure approval you must submit a form describing your research in detail and attaching appendices such as research instruments and your consent form.
