Project Intro
“Your Girl RayRay” is an entrepreneurship project focusing on the creation of videos from the perspective of students from sino-foreign cooperative universities on domestic and global social media platforms (such as YouTube, Instagram, Red, Bilibili, Weibo, etc.). Its videos are mainly about cultural similarities and differences, including topics like sharing language learning skills, UG students’ experiences in study and job hunting, gender awareness of women, and the health of women. Its target audience is Chinese and international students aged from 16 to 25. The profits are mainly from advertising revenue, video sponsorship, physical or online products, and pay-per-view on the platforms.

Why you chose Dii & What’s your original intention for joining Dii?
When talking about the reason for choosing the Dii, Mingxin Yu said that she was inspired by Shang Li, a graduate student, who also runs a media channel. The student had also applied to the Dii program and said that the Dii program provided her with a lot of help in terms of guidance, equipment support, and encouragement. Also, after applying for the Dii program, there is an intangible force behind you to motivate you to complete more video updates. Being inspired greatly, Mingxin Yu chose Dii to further develop her own social media channel.
In addition, Mingxin mentioned that she originally aimed to share cultural similarities and differences by creating social media content. Her content includes sharing language learning skills, UG students’ experiences in study and job hunting, and gender awareness of women and the health of women. Although she has experience in this field before, Dii has provided her with a diverse and supportive platform to assist Mingxin Yu in achieving her vision faster.
What did you gain from this project & What are your future plans?
She mentioned that she gained a lot from this project. In addition to gaining some followers and advertising revenue on these platforms, she also meets more friends with similar interests. She met a lot of influencers, anchors, and brands and exchanged her ideas with them through social media, which provided her with many creative sparks. This project let her know that there are still many social-media-content makers in the world who share the same topics as her, and they can make friends and have thought-provoking talks with each other.
She thinks that it is meaningful to shoot videos, give guidance and build a supportive network with friends holding the same interests and life pursuits. She also hopes that her project can grow in Dii and the project executors can gain more insights from experience.
How do you think about Dii & How InE have helped your project?
First of all, she believes that Dii has provided her with a great platform that is full of resources, assisting her to experience a smooth incubation and reach the estimated expansion goal. From financial, software, and hardware support to professional guidance on creative ideas and inspiration, Dii has provided her with faster and more efficient professional support, which has enabled her to carry out her We Media dreams with greater passion and motivation.
Also, the InE team has also offered great help to her. She mentioned, “there were times when I would be relatively lost, but I remember Frank and Liqi would promptly have a discussion with me regarding the future direction and provide feasible practical solutions.” When she ran out of inspiration, she would also seek advice from the InE team in time, and the mentors were always able to open up her mind and offer advice. But along with the advice, the mentors also carefully preserve each content creator’s initial aspirations and allow them to exert creativity bravely. She highly recommends every aspiring DKU student participate in the Dii program and hatch their own entrepreneurial project!
