When wild animals such as cats and dogs are selected as pets, the human preference for certain traits often increases the risk of genetic diseases. As the pet market booms, breeders are in demand for genetic risk analysis of pure-blood pets, and many pet owners are worried about their pets’ health. At the same time, gene sequencing technology is developing rapidly with its cost falling significantly. The team hopes to provide breeders and pet-lovers with information and advice on pet health by using Opentron and Target Enrichment Sequencing for high-throughput and accurate detection of pet-gene types and gut microbes.
