At the same time, it is also a science with extensive cross-incorporation.
In this ESS, we are honored to invite Keren Chen, who received a Master of Fine Arts degree from the Parsons School of Design, to share with us the innovative method of combining design, technology, and market, including the process from entrepreneurial idea to entrepreneurial achievement, and her unique understanding of the industrial design.

Keren Chen is the MFA Design and Technology Interaction Designer in Parsons. Parsons School of Design is the first art design school in the United States with courses in fashion design, interior design, and graphic design. It is also a member of the Association of Private Art and Design Colleges and is ranked third in the world and first in the United States among the 2020QS World Art and Design Schools and 2021QS World Art and Design Schools. At the same time, She is also a co-founder of Web 3.0 Explorer. Web 3.0 refers to the third generation of Internet technology, based on distributed protocols and blockchain technology. It is an enhanced version of the network experience, which makes it easier and faster for everyone from collecting information to network communication and using services. Moreover, it not only improves the user’s network experience, but also endows centralized and distributed data intelligence, and uses new platform technologies such as machine learning and big data to establish a highly autonomous and reliable platform, realizing a new type of man-machine collaboration mode. In addition to marching in the frontier field of science and technology, Keren Chen is currently serving as the creative director of Shanghai Mesmiland Media Technology Co., Ltd., constantly improving in the professional field and exploring the “Chinese Concept Web 3.0”.

The speaker will introduce her background in industrial design as an entrepreneur and talk about the reasons and thoughts for her entrepreneurial direction. Apart from this, she will present the experiences and results of her entrepreneurial endeavors over the past year, exploring the combined design + technology + market + economy type of thinking from the novel perspective of a designer, including expanding from the designer’s initial single design module to the collision of design + technology and then expanding to the integration of the three dimensions of design + technology + market, and further expanding to design + technology + market + economic thinking, exploring domestic changes and opportunities in foreign markets. Finally, the students who participated in this session will also get some valuable suggestions on the study and career development of design.
