Ethical AI and Communication for Autonomous Vehicles in Urban Environments
Team Name: EthosDrive
My project focuses on integrating ethical AI and communication protocols in autonomous vehicles (AVs) for urban environments. I aim to develop and refine computer vision models for pedestrian detection, while addressing ethical issues like bias and fairness. Using reinforcement learning, I will enhance these models’ decision-making processes. I plan to implement V2X communication protocols (Vehicle-to-Pedestrian, Vehicle-to-Vehicle) and test them in simulated urban scenarios using tools like CARLA. Additionally, I will use ROS robots for real-world environment testing to validate my models’ performance. My research will explore how ethical frameworks can be integrated into AV technology, ensuring safety and transparency. By contributing to open-source projects and publishing my findings, I hope to advance the technical and ethical standards for AV deployment, making them safer and more equitable in smart cities.
