Program Summary: This project aims to develop a health assessment scale based on the World Health Organization’s framework of intrinsic capacity, providing simple, practical, and quantifiable indicators. The scale is specifically designed for economically capable and self-manageable urban elderly Chinese aged 60 and above in Kunshan, Shanghai, and Taicang regions. The project aims to offer an evidence-based, personalized, and sustainable health assessment service to promote active aging behaviors and improve the health status of the elderly population. By empowering the elderly to take control of their health, the ultimate goal is to enhance their overall well-being and quality of life as well as alleviate the social burden caused by aging in China.
