Program Summary: This project will be focusing on the conceptualization of subjective pain in one or multi-sensory forms, in particular when verbal articulation is not readily accessible or less accurate. This representation is a technical and/or artistic representation of the individual’s pain experience in visual, auditory, tactile, or other forms. To be specific, various approaches like the use of Infrared Thermal Imaging Technology, and the match between different kinds of pain to shape and color will be considered during the research process. Furthermore, the comparison between subjective pain experiences and electrophysical responses to noxious stimuli will be conducted to connect self-report painfulness with quantified criteria.
