Program Summary: The number of depression patients in China has reached 379.8 million by 2021, accounting for 26.9% of the population, and the disease has shown a youth-oriented tendency in recent years. This project intends to combine the destigmatization of depression with immersive theater, which is popular among young people. By merging entertainment with knowledge promotion on mental illness, the theatre invites the audience to become the story’s creators: with the guidance of NPCs (non-player characters), participants will interact with the environment as actors and players to explore the plots, conduct scene search, and act out roles to jointly save Alice, a depression patient.
